I donīt think this is the right place for a discussion like that, BUT:
Iīm quite pissed off by what is written here!
There have been first kilings by kids at school here in Germany too.
Few weeks ago a 13 year old boy was fired from the school my daughter attends for carrying a gun!
Those things are coming even closer to me and I believe itīs very dangerous whatīs happening with those kids.
I wouldnīt answer it with handing a gun to my 15-year old kid. Hey, we`ve stil got teachers at school and, if necessary, thereīs police around.
Kids just follow wahet they see, and thereīs some sort of saying around here that all the bad stuff that happens in the US will be here few years later.
I never understood the American crazyness for firearms nor will I ever understand it. But for once: After killing our culture with hamburgers leave our kids alone! I donīt want little kids running around with guns and parents being glad to have the right to carry around those things.
Freedom doesnīt have anything to do with firearms.
If your governement takes away your rights one by one (every governement does, btw.), you wonīt even notice it because your stuck with watching your right to handle guns. Same over here: take the Germans their right to kill themselves on Autobahns without speed limits, theyīll go crazy.
Autobahns and firearms are just the playgrounds government leaves to keep you busy so you donīt even notive what theīre taking from you.
I believe you`re just watching too many really bad tv-shows over there. Why not try a good (!) book sometimes inbetween (I donīt talk about a repair manual).
And, speaking of freedom: Most of the Germans didnīt want to get liberated on May 8th 1945, they followed this guy Hitler by their own will (Sorta weird people too...). When Germany invaded Belgium in 1941, my father went to Britain to fight in the Royal Airforce against Nazis. I would have done the same. After the war, he never felt any need to carry the gun.
And, by the way, it wasnīt a monastery they busted at Waco, I recall...
